As Team Hope in Motion wrapped up another impactful mission trip to Antigua, Guatemala, we reflect on an incredible week of life-changing surgeries with incredible milestones!

This week, our team achieved something incredible: 98 total surgeries for 94 patients! Can you believe it? A milestone that exceeded past years and left an undeniable impact on so many lives.

Even with 73 surgeries already behind them, our team had one final day of operation.  Any guesses for the total surgery count? It was another great day of care that ended in an evening of celebration. 

Yovita’s journey, like so many others, reminds us that healing is not just about the body—it’s about restoring hope, rebuilding faith, and stepping into the life God has planned.

We’re humbled and honored to be part of stories like Marco’s, and are grateful to our team, to our supporters, to Zimmer Biomet, and to God for making these transformations possible and for prayers answered.

Once back at the hospital, everyone jumped into their positions, with five operating rooms running simultaneously. By the end of the day, the team had performed 24 procedures, including 7 total hips, 13 total knees, and 4 foot & ankle.

Once we arrived, our team had an orientation and went to work. We split into two groups, one prepping the equipment and surgical rooms while the other was at the triage clinic. Both teams worked like clockwork to get everything accomplished.

Today marks the arrival of our team to the vibrant city of Antigua, Guatemala, to embark on a week-long journey to partner with Faith in Practice in order to bring hope and healing to those in need.
