Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement

At Team Hope In Motion, we believe everyone deserves the freedom of movement. That belief guides our work in Guatemala, and it guides how we build this website. Whether you’re watching our documentaries, reading trip blogs, joining a surgical team, or giving hope through a donation, we are committed to making our site accessible to people of all abilities, including people with disabilities.

Our Approach

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), describe how to make websites usable for people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have mobility, cognitive, or learning disabilities.

To work toward that goal, we:

  • Write descriptive alternative text for meaningful images so people using screen readers know what each photo shows.

  • Use clear headings and page structure so the site can be navigated by keyboard and assistive technology.

  • Provide a “Skip to Content” link at the top of every page.

  • Work to provide captions for our documentary videos and transcripts for our Shore 2 Shore podcast episodes.

  • Choose text and background colors with readable contrast.

  • Review new pages and trip blog posts for accessibility before publishing.

Known Limitations

Accessibility is ongoing work, and some parts of our site may not yet fully meet our goals. Some older videos, podcast episodes, and team resource documents may not yet have captions, transcripts, or fully accessible formats. If you need any of this content in another format, contact us and we’ll provide it.

Donations and store purchases are processed through third-party payment systems. We’ve chosen tools that support accessibility, but we can’t control every part of that experience. If anything prevents you from completing a gift or an order, please reach out and we’ll help you finish it another way.

Our site also links to pages we don’t manage, including our Instagram and Facebook accounts. We can’t guarantee the accessibility of those platforms, but we’re happy to share the same information with you directly.

Let Us Know

If you have trouble using any part of our website, need information in an alternative format, or want to report an accessibility barrier, we want to hear from you. Tell us which page, video, or document you were using and what went wrong, and we’ll respond within [5] business days.
