Day 6: Wrapping Up Surgeries

Today, we wrapped up our last set of surgeries.  With the ten surgeries our OR teams performed today, we were able to help a total of 42 patients this week!  We’re so proud of our team members, the team at FIP, and all those who helped to bring new life to so many people.

Here are just a few quick notes on some enjoyable moments of the day:

  • Our patients in the recovery ward had a fun time and pumped their arms while in bed as one of our PT team members led them in a mini dance party.

  • A group of our team members took a little lunch break to play some basketball around the hoop at the hospital.

  • With surgeries wrapping up, we were able to pack up some of our equipment to leave behind for FIP to utilize moving forward.

  • One woman in PT was able to stand for the first time in two years and another hadn’t walked in six months.

None of this could have been accomplished without each individual person here.  We’re truly thankful for all our team members and partnerships which make this happen.  It’s an absolute work of grace.

Check in tomorrow for updates as it’s our last day of rounds!
